3RD ANNUAL HOLIDAY HOT ROD ROUND UP
                    OCTOBER 26, 2024

All I can say is wow. What an awesome day. Sometimes everything just goes right, and today it did. The 3rd Annual Holiday Hot Rod Round Up was a huge success. In all 97 show vehicles were on site and support by the public was awesome. Most importantly the funds raised will all benefit local children through the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program. I don’t know where to begin. First of all, there are some amazing people at the Salvation Army. This is the third year that we have hosted this event, and this was definitely the best one yet. These are amazing people that really do a lot of great things in our community. Equally amazing are the folks at the Covington Department of Parks and Recreation. Lisa Worley is an amazing director of this department and they do an awesome job providing us with the absolute, very best venue for car events in the city, the Jackson River Sports Complex. It is also important to recognize all of our sponsors, the businesses in our community really go the extra mile in supporting these events. That is why we strongly encourage everyone to not only support local events, but to also support local businesses. Without their support there would be no car shows. Also want to give a shout out to SLYZ BBQ, the Salvation Army, JKK Concessions, and Flurries INC for providing awesome food service for this event. And also, to all of our vendors, it is our hope that each of you had a successful day. We also want to recognize the Alleghany Journal and the Highland Recorder; you were both on site and provided excellent coverage of this event. We also want to thank the Virginian Review and Highlands Media Group for your support promoting our event. Of course, Eugene “The Lone Wolf” Windsor once again exhibited why he is the “Voice of Car Shows in The Highlands” by providing excellent D.J. Service. Also, a big shout out to Good News Church and the Salvation Army for a great kid’s carnival. We were also very happy that Santa Claus and the Grinch took time out of their busy schedule to attend our event. Of course it isn’t a car show without cars, and our entrants are truly awesome. Not only did you come from our hometown, many of you traveled quite a few miles to attend today’s event. Thank you for choosing to spend the day with us. And of course, we also want to thank everyone that attended today. We had a great public crowd including many children. Everyone seemed to have a great time. We would also like to congratulate all of our raffle winners, the 50/50 winner, and all of the door prize winners. It was an awesome day and a milestone for the Alleghany Cruisers. We cannot thank everyone enough for making this event special. We look forward to the 4th Annual Holiday Hot Rod Round Up on November 1, 2025. What a great day.
