CRUISIN' COVINGTON XII
OCTOBER 12, 2024
The final final Cruisin Covington of 2024 was held Saturday evening. It was crisp but beautiful fall evening to cruise. Several cars were spotted cruising the town and a group of us gathered at Trani's Grille for a nice dinner. It was another fun evening with friends. Cruisin Covington was often marred by unfavorable weather this year but many of us enjoy these informal gatherings. Cruisin Covington will return in April of 2025. We hope to see everyone out on the streets next year.
FALL COVINGTON CARS & COFFEE COVINGTON VA - OCTOBER 12, 2024
The Alleghany Cruisers hosted the Fall Edition of Covington Cars & Coffee Saturday morning. It was a cool and brisk morning but 17 show vehicles came out for a fun morning of hot coffee and socializing. It was a great morning with our friends. Our area has an amazing car culture with so many wonderful people of different backgrounds whom have grown to be such great friends with a common bond. The Alleghany Cruisers are committed to the continued growth and evolution of the area's car culture.
THE FALL CRUISE IN
KINGS TIRE SERVICE - COVINGTON VA
OCTOBER 4, 2024
Although it was the "Fall" Cruise In, it definitely felt like summer as it was a warm and humid evening at Kings Tire Service. A total of 29 show vehicles came out to enjoy the event. It was a great evening with friends and everyone had a good time. This event was the final Friday night cruise in for the season, we are looking forward to hosting more of these events next season. You can't beat the atmosphere of a classic Friday night cruise in.
CRUISIN' COVINGTON XI

It was a gray, dreary evening, but it stayed dry. Only a small number of people came out for Cruisin Covington XI, but those that did enjoyed a great evening with friends.
CRUISIN' COVINGTON X
SEPTEMBER 21, 2024
With a half dozen car shows in a 50 mile radius the Alleghany High School reunions, and the cross country road race going on Cruisin Covington X had a light turn out. Those that did come out however enjoyed a nice evening with their friends.
FESTIVAL ON THE HILL CAR SHOW
CLIFTON FORGE VA - SEPTEMBER 21, 2024
The Alleghany Cruisers teamed up with our friends at Scott Hill Retirement Community once again to host the Festival on the Hill Car Show. It was a beautiful day for a car show, and despite a half dozen car events beng scheduled on the same day as this event, a total of 32 show vehicles were in attendance. It was a funday with vendors, food, raffles, an much more going on. The public support for this event was good and quite a bit of money was raised for Safehomes here in the Alleghany Highlands. Another great local event.
LABOR DAY CRUISE IN
JRSC - COVINGTON VA - SEPTEMBER 2, 2024
The Alleghany Cruisers held our annual Labor Day Cruise In on Labor Day in conjunction with the Covington Paperworkers Union Local 675's Alleghany Highlands Labor Day Celebration. It was a great event with 50 show vehicles in attendance. It was a beautiful evening with a huge public crowd. In addition to the cruise in their were two live bands, several food vendors, and lots of activities for the kids. It was a great event and we were honored to be a part of it. We love engaging in our community.
THE SUMMER CRUISE IN II
BACK TO THE 70'S AND 80'S
CUCCI'S - COVINGTON VA - AUGUST 23, 2024
Friday night cruise ins are as old as the car culture itself. Dating back to the 1950’s when young people would gather at the local drive in, diner, car wash, etc. They are events that breathe nostalgia, event as they are still at home in today’s car culture. You cannot duplicate the atmosphere of a good Friday night cruise in, and that is exactly what we had tonight at Cucci’s. The atmosphere was electric, echoing shades of the past while embracing the future. Car enthusiasts young and old gathered, enjoying the sights, the sounds, and most of all, the great company. A total of 45 vehicles were in attendance, along with a very large number of area residents. Everyone soaked up the atmosphere. So many happy people enjoying the evening together. It was a truly beautiful sight to behold. The Alleghany Cruisers are happy that we are able to carry on the tradition of the Friday night cruise in. We are also eternally grateful of our friends at Cucci’s for allowing us to hold these events on their property. It was a magical evening
CRUISIN' COVINGTON IX
AUGUST 16, 2024
Once again the threat of rain landed on Cruisin' Covington. This has been the wettest "dry" summer that I can ever remember. Fortunately the rain held off and those that did come out enjoyed a great evening of cruising. The threat of rain resulted in a light crowd, but we all had a great time, and stayed out very late. Cruisin Covington moves to Saturday evenings on August 31, here is hoping to a nice, dry fall of cruising.
CRUISIN' COVINGTON VIII
AUGUST 2, 2024
For a "dry" summer rain sure has found a way to land on a lot of Friday evenings this year. Nonetheless, amid threatening skies Cruisin' Covington happened, and it didn't even rain. The threat of foul weather held the crowd down, but nearly 30 vehicles were still spotted out cruising. Several of us gathered at our favorite spot, Wal Mart for a great evening of socializing. As always, many of those out cruising supported our local restaurants. Another great evening with our friends.

BACK TO THE 50'S AND 60'S
CUCCI'S - COVINGTON VA - JULY 26, 2024
Saturdays may be made for car shows, but as we all know, Friday's are made for cruise in's. There is nothing quite like the atmosphere of a good old fashioned Friday night cruise in. No fluff, just awesome cars, a great D.J., and lots of our good friends. That is exactly what the Summer Cruise In was. Although the skies wee threatening at times, it turned out to be a beautiful evening and 41 show vehicles turned out along with masses of spectators. It was a great evening with our many friends. We all enjoyed some great cars, wonderful company, and of course that great Cucci's food. Awesome night.
1ST ANNUAL CHESSIE CAR SHOW
C&O HERITAGE CENTER - CLIFTON FORGE VA
JULY 13, 2024
The Alleghany Cruisers and the C&O Historical Society teamed up to host the very first Chessie Car Show on Saturday July 13. It was one hot day, but it was a defining moment for the car and rail culture for our area. The atmosphere was electric and there were smiling faces everywhere. This event was a fund raiser for the C&O Historical Society, an organization that does much in our area, along with making an incredible effort to preserve the history of the C&O. This unique event featured 53 show vehicles and was very well attended by the public. With the C&O Heritage Center as the backdrop, and a large collection of railroad rolling stock, models, and artifacts to view this show offered above and beyond what the normal car event offers. The members of our club agree that this is one of the funnest events that we have been involved in. We are looking forward to doing it again next year.
CRUISIN' COVINGTON VII
JULY 12, 2024
After Cruisin' Covington was once again rained out the previous week, we were able to return to the streets for a beautiful evening of cruising. Over 50 vehicles were spotted on the streets of Covington and several of us gathered at Wal Mart for an informal cruise in. It was the largest turn out so far for the year. Great evening.

It was a beautiful evening for Cruisin' Covington VI and over 40 vehicles were observed cruising the town. It was a great evening with our friends as several of us gathered at Wal Mart for an informal cruise in. As always, many of those cruising supported local restaurants. It was another fun evening.
CRUISIN' COVINGTON V
JUNE 21, 2024
It was definitely one hot night for Cruisin Covington V but that didn't stop nearly 40 cars from taking to the streets. It was the first time this year that Cruisin Covington wasn't affected by rain, and we made the most if it. Several of us gathered at Wal Mart for a fun evening socializing with friends. Hopefully even more folks will hit the streets next Friday. It was a fun night
5TH ANNUAL BACK THE BLUE
SCHOLARSHIP CAR SHOW
COVINGTON VA - JUNE 15, 2024
The 5th Annual Back the Blue Scholarship Car Show was a truly magical event. This show proved to be a milestone for the Alleghany Cruisers. A total of 110 show vehicles were on site, as were numerous law enforcement agencies and vendors. This year saw the most impressive law enforcement display to date. There were cars, food, displays, demonstrations, activities for the kids, and tons of other activities. The public came out in mass and it was a beautiful day. On Saturday evening THE FREQUENCY rocked the house during the Back the Blue Bash. Most importantly, this event raised quite a bit of funding for the Back the Blue Scholarship which will benefit area high school seniors forwarding their education in the criminal justice field. All and all a great day, not only for our club, but for the community as this show continues to gain a great reputation throughout the region.

CLASSIC CRUISE IN
MAGIC CITY CHEVROLET
COVINGTON VA - JUNE 7, 2024
The Alleghany Cruisers along with our friends at Magic City Chevrolet hosted the Classic Cruise In Friday evening. It was a great evening with gorgeous weather. A total of 42 show vehicles were present and a large public crowd was on hand. Local legend Eugene “The Lone Wolf” Windsor kept everyone rocking all evening. The Clifton Forge Little League provided excellent food service and Nothing But Cakes provided everyone with a tasty desert. It was a great night with friends and the event had a classic Friday Night Cruise In atmosphere. We look forward to doing more events with our friends at Magic City Chevrolet in the future, they are wonderful people to work with. Awesome night with an electric atmosphere.
CRUISE IN AT TWINKS DINER
IRON GATE VA - JUNE 2, 2024
It was a historic day when the Alleghany Cruisers hosted the first ever car enthusiast event in Iron gate VA. It was a beautiful day for the Cruise In at Twinks Diner and 27 show vehicles were present. It was a fun day and everyone enjoyed some great food and a nice afternoon with our friends.
CRUISIN' COVINGTON IV
MAY 24, 2024
For the first time this year the weather cooperated (well except for about 10 minutes or so) and we had generally good weather for Cruisin' Covington. Around 40 vehicles were on the streets and a few of us gathered at our usual spot at Wal Mart for a nice little informal Cruise In. Hopefully the weather will stay dry and we can enjoy many more Friday evenings with our friends this summer.
CRUISIN' COVINGTON III
MAY 17, 2024
A month into Cruisin' Covington 2024 and our club has yet to be blessed with decent weather on a Friday night for this fun event. Once again the rain struck and kept the car count very low. The few of us that did come out enjoyed some cruising and a nice dinner. My only wish this season is for the rain to go away on the weekends.
SPRING CRUISE IN - KINGS TIRE SERVICE
COVINGTON VA - MAY 10, 2024
The Alleghany Cruisers once again returned to King's Tire Service in Covington VA for the Spring Cruise In. It is always a pleasure hosting an event here as these folks have been so supportive of our club from the day they arrived in town. We would have liked to have seen better weather, it was a little cool but it stayed dry, well for the most part. A total of 36 vehicles were present, and although our D.J. could not make it due to an unexpected road closure everyone had a great time. We look forward to many events with our friends here in the future.
CRUISIN' COVINGTON II
MAY 3, 2024
Cruisin' Covington II was held on Friday May 3rd. Once again, the weatherman blew the forecast, what was supposed to be a beautiful evening turned into rain once again by 8pm. The threatening weather kept the number cruising town down to about 30 or so. We were able to hang out and enjoy each others company for a while however. Once the rains came we headed indoors for a nice dinner with friends. Hopefully when Cruisin' Covington returns on May 18th it is warm and dry.
AUTISM AWARENESS CRUISE IN
RIVERMONT SCHOOL - FALLING SPRINGS VA
APRIL 28, 2024
The Alleghany Cruisers co hosted the Autism Awareness Cruise In at Rivermont School in Falling Springs VA on April 28. It was a great event with 47 show vehicles present. The weather was great and there were many vendors and activities on site. Overall it was a great event with great public support. We always enjoy working with our friends at Rivermont School. Another great local event.
CRUISIN' COVINGTON I
APRIL 26, 2024
After two back to back rain outs, Cruisin' Covington finally got off the ground on Friday April 26. It was a little chilly, but it was dry, and dry has been rare in Alleghany County for months. Over forty vehicles were on the streets and it was clear that everyone was ready to get out. We are all looking forward to warmer, drier weekends ahead.
SPRING COVINGTON CARS & COFFEE
COVINGTON VA - APRIL 12, 2024
The Alleghany Cruisers kicked off the 2024 Alleghany Highlands Car Event Season by hosting the first event of the year. The Spring Edition of Covington Cars & Coffee was held at Cucci's and it was a great event. It was cool and windy, but that did little to dampen the enthusiasm as 23 vehicles were on hand and local car enthusiasts were ready to get out and enjoy the morning together.
